Theoretical

Theoretical

Theoretical(Real name Luke Theophilus) started DJ-ing in the year 2001 under the name DJ Theo, mixing mostly hip hop(and a little R&B and Trance)in various clubs around Oxfordshire for a few years. He took a few years out to pursue other things, until late 2010 he met Half decent and within a few months the 2 were performing together across the UK. Half Decent’s overall love for music, deep lyrics, irresistible flow and powerful production reignited Theoretical’s passion for DJ-ing and music. He draws a wide range of musical influences such as Prince, Nas, Dizzee Rascal, Smilex and established producers and DJ’s like Tiesto, Nero, Dj Premier, and The Neptunes. Theoretical is now the exclusive DJ for Half Decent and London based rapper Inspekta and throughout 2011 he’s shared the stage with the likes of Example, Chipmunk, MC Lars, Hot Chip and Akira the Don just to name a few. His own DJ Sets showcase an energetic passion for music whilst straddling dubstep, hip hop, drum& bass and anything that smashes a dance. Mixing a creative combination of club classics and dance floor fillers in all aspects of progressive dance music your feet will never stop moving. With a host of projects waiting in the wings his DJ sets are also the stomping ground for new exclusive material such as remix’s, new productions and themed megamix’s. In the studio he has recorded on Half Decent’s mixtape "How I learned to love the Remix" and EP "This is the Music" by incorporating his unique DJ ability within the production. He has also recorded with Lee Christian(of Smilex)and the Prohibition Smokers club on Quickfix recordings. If you haven’t seen ‘Theoretical’ DJ'ing around Oxford or performing up and down the country with Half Decent and Inspekta, then make sure you catch him Live soon.
